The Southeast Asian Consortium on Gender, Sexuality, and Health

Background
The Southeast Asian Consortium on Gender, Sexuality, and Health was established in February 2003 and formally launched at the 2nd Asia-Pacific Conference on Sexual and Reproductive Health in October 2003 in Bangkok, in recognition of the values of regional partnerships in understanding and addressing sexual health needs in the region.
Through a series of regional training, research, and publication the Consortium aims to promote a context-specific and gender-sensitive approach to sexuality and health in research, policy advocacy, and intervention in order to contribute to better sexual and reproductive health in Southeast Asia and China. Activities are jointly undertaken by the Consortium members and rotate among various locations with a central secretariat based in Bangkok.
